Latest Update (May, 2012)

(Global Update) Late Spring News: KRucial Reggae reviews new Marley Movie, with additional thoughts.

Marley movie posterIt's been awhile since KRucial Reggae aka Kyle Russell has written a Blog. More recent blogs have been issued by our ReggaePR brand, and have focused on Booking and PR.

This Blog is a return to our in depth editorial style of interpretation - this time of what promises to be an  instant legend - the collection of interviews (both of Bob and those close to him).

Click through to our LATEST KRUCIAL REGGAE BLOG or stay here on KRucialReggae.com and see ALL OUR BLOGS in our Newsletter section (which also features these editorials).

------------------------------------------------------------

Our Newsletters ARE news: reaching international audiences, we target fans & industry, bridging the gap between Artists and audiences. >>> Get on board by Contacting us or Subscribing.

alt Our innovative "Now EAR This" concept of sharing new music with listeners directly has been a big success.

Check out our latest [Now Ear This] Global Newsletter. It announces the launch of (KCRN) KRucial Community Radio Network; showcases our newest clients Junior Toots (new album A Little Bit of Love pre-release) & Roots of Creation. There's also the tour poster & upcoming SoCal gig dates for Roberto Gell. Many FREE downloads available, including from Elihu, Fuzzy Logic, Alific & more. Also interesting is that we've consolidated our Social Networking Presence onto an evolving page on this site; and have also created a livicated spot for information on our Blogs.

Our previous Global Newsletter showcased Iakopo's new single "Fly,' Roberto Gell's CD, and additional Artists, from Alific & Elihu to Ras Rebel, Monsoon, and the Lava House Roots Band (from Aruba). Also featured was the latest ReggaePR blog "I can make you a star(?!)" - a must read for Artists!

Other newsletters we're very pleased about are the DJ oriented Selectors Choice & the Artist oriented Singers & Players (click through blue words to see the latest issues). Use our contact links to Subscribe or Contact us.

What Happened: second half of 2011 (updates)
Written by kyle

Infrastructural developments:

We Give Thanks to Boston Web Group, who have facilitated the following website developments. We overlaid KRucialReggae.com onto Reggae4i.com, making this site home to both. Our new/old brand - ReggaePR - was integrated as an Artist focused 'arm,' and our Newsletters were re-titled.

Social Networking expanded dramatically. We created a KRucial Reggae Twitter account, as well a ReggaePR Twitter account, and are exploring all-genre musicPRmanagement approaches (with yet another Twitter account of that name).

We've added to our more philosophical KRucial Reggae blog (one topic was "What is Rasta?") by creating the more Artist oriented ReggaePR blog (with recent articles on Booking & titled: "I can make you a star?!").

Leveraging substantial Contact Lists & a formidable Facebook presence, KRucial Reggae was able to step away from promoting its own periodic events (as it has through 2010 - and previous years - into early 2011) to promoting high profile touring Artist appearances. These included Easy Star Allstars (appearing with Destroy Babylon); Steel Pulse, Inner Circle; and 2 Festivals (which featured a host of legendary acts).

Artist Spotlight: Dub Station kicks off Anniversary year

Dub Station band celebrates 18 years on stage!

alt

Pictured here is the 50+ page book featuring over 300 photos of the bands' exploits: travels, shows, CD's...a rich & varied history. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE DIGITAL BOOK ONLINE

Dub Station has been called "arguably one of the top US bands." Performing across the U.S. - including Hawaii; up to Calgary (and Toronto), Canada - and even to Kingston, JA - the band has backed hundreds of artists, including Abijah, Shinehead, Mikey Dread, Junior Kelly, Lady Saw, Wayne Wonder, and many, many more.

A retrospective slide show featuring excerpts from the book above was presented by Dub Station founder Kyle Russell in metro-Boston (mid-May), and a full (2 set) performance ensued (at the legendary Johnny D's Music Hall). The band backed a handful of artists, including Dion Knibb, ASN, Skiffington, Jem-i and Sandra D.
